Welcome to our Team Blog! Marie Antoinette & Edie Marie have joined together to create a fun place to share our ideas and lives with all of you. We know that our teaming up has been confusing for some of you and we apologize. We will refer to ourselves as Marie Antoinette (the Doll Creator & maker of fabulous items) who lives in Peacock Paradise and Edie Marie (the creator of the posts and story telling on this blog & amateur crafter of many things in my "attic") who lives on Golden Pond. What great fun we have combining our forces!!

Thank you for stopping by to see what's happening in our studios in Peacock Paradise and on Golden Pond!

WE ARE THANKFUL FOR YOU!

This day is reserved to give Special
thanks to God for His many blessings.

 As we prepare our Thanksgiving Feasts
we thank God for the bounty He has
given us, no matter what is on our table.

 We thank Him for the peace and
prosperity He has shown us.

 We thank Him for all of you out there!
You are each so special to us!

"The LORD bless you
and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn His face toward you
and give you peace."
Numbers 6:24-26

Happy Thanksgiving dear ones!

OVER THE RIVER TO GOLDEN POND...

Welcome to
"FALL"
on Golden Pond!

A Story From Edie Marie
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When I was in 2nd grade we were
taught the song "Over the River" as
a Thanksgiving song, not a Christmas song.
(You'd have to know this teacher to make
any sense of that! She changed out "Christmas"
for "Thanksgiving" to suit her own  needs.)
Just bare with me here...
Every year on Thanksgiving Eve I was parked
in front of our little TV to watch Mary Martin
in her performance of "Peter Pan". It was
wonderful to watch real people play
the part of fairy tale characters and
see them flying through the air!
In black & white of course!
 When I was an adult I realized
it was my Mother's strategy to keep me
occupied while she was preparing for
the big dinner the next day. Smart.
I have fond memories of that particular fall.
I dressed in a made-up costume as a Pilgrim.
I even made a Pilgrim hat with the help of
my married sister.
NOT me! Image from Google
I performed for everyone in my costume and
sang my new learned song. I had a captive
audience you might say! Very memorable
for me because I was a shy violet of a girl.
Everyone must have been shocked!
It snowed like crazy that Thanksgiving Day.
It was up to my knees!
I made paths in the fresh
fallen snow because that's what you do
when you're a kid and I made a fabulous
snowman, first of the season!
So anyway here's my song on that great
Thanksgiving Day for your enjoyment:
(Imagine I'm a second grader in a cute Pilgrim costume!)
Over the river and through the woods
To Grandmother's house we go
The horse knows the way to carry the sleigh
Through the white and drifted snow.
Over the river and through the woods
Oh, how the wind does blow
It stings the toes and bites the nose
As over the fields we go!
Over the river and through the woods
To have a full day of play
Oh, hear the bells ringing ting-a-ling-ling
For it is Thanksgiving Day.
Over the river and though the woods
Trot fast my dapple gray
Spring o'er the ground just like a hound
For it is Thanksgiving Day.
 Over the river and through the woods
And straight through the barnyard gate
It seems we go so dreadfully slow
It is so hard to wait
Over the river and though the woods
Now Grandma's cap I spy
 (Paper pumpkins made on Cricket machine.)
 Hurrah for the fun, the pudding's done
Hurrah for the pumpkin pie!
 Happy Fall from Golden Pond
and Peacock Paradise!
