Welcome to our Team Blog! Marie Antoinette & Edie Marie have joined together to create a fun place to share our ideas and lives with all of you. We will refer to ourselves as Marie Antoinette (the Doll Creator & maker of fabulous items) who lives in Peacock Paradise and Edie Marie (the creator of the posts and story telling on this blog & amateur crafter of many things in my "attic") who lives on Golden Pond. What great fun we have combining our forces!!

CHRISTMAS IN PEACOCK PARADISE & ON GOLDEN POND

CHRISTMAS IN PEACOCK PARADISE

Marie has once again been invited to show
her incredible miniature village at
the annual "Christmas on the Rails" event
at the Picayune Train Depot in
Picayune Mississippi!

Last year's event was incredible due to
Marie's huge display of her "village of old".
She puts it together so beautifully and
makes it come to life before your eyes.

A special holiday gift for you...
a video of "MARIE VILLAGE" created
by Marie Antoinette...

A special Thank You to Marie's hubby
for the filming of "Marie Village"!

Darling Marie has been a busy
little elf working steadily in
her work shop to present
 fabulous creations to
dazzle you!

Presenting...

 THE BRIDAL CHRISTMAS "TREE"

This is so breathtaking!
Marie has created an elegant "tree" that
would look fabulous in any room.

She has used the traditional tree shape to
put a whole new take on what you can
do with that vintage wedding gown
that's hanging in your closet!

It's so elegant and graceful!
Imagine this displayed at a Christmas wedding
or in your home as a bridal theme for an
upcoming wedding. The possibilities are
endless.

The gorgeous lace is just beginning to have
the faintest coloring of time.

Remember the sneak peek we gave you
of this beautiful vintage look cameo ornament?

That was the inspiration for this
timeless holiday bridal tree.

There are vintage looking ornaments all
throughout the lace, strands of beaded garland
draped , the palest pink peacock at the sleeves
from which a sparkling chandelier hangs,

topped with a shimmering gold crown...

and a delicate glass bird
perched on the shoulder!

Pure elegance!
I applaud you Marie for
creating a vision of beauty
for all of us to enjoy.
Bravo!!

Marie's Christmas Bridal Tree
will be displayed at the
Picayune Train Depot
for "Christmas on the Rails"
through the holiday season!

 Does Marie's creativity stop there?
Of course not!!

Presenting...

THE NUTCRACKER THEATRE DOLL

As the story goes...
Many Christmas Eves later Clara
is leaving soon for the Christmas Ball.
She sees the old Nutcracker that her
Godfather, Heer Drosslemeyer, gave
her so many years ago. He was an odd
sort of man but now she could see his
love for children through his careful
selection of gifts for them.

Clara recalls the dream she had that particular
Christmas Eve when she received that special
gift. Her Nutcracker came to life and
was fighting the Mouse King!

It all seemed so real. The details were still
etched into her mind.

It was a furious battle and then...
her Nutcracker defeated the Mouse King!
 Right before her eyes
 the Nutcracker turned into a
handsome Prince that lived in the
Land of the Sweets. Yes... he took her
there where fairies danced to
the most beautiful music.

Oh my, it's all flooding back...

my beloved Nutcracker and the Prince.

As Clara makes her way through her
beautiful gardens her eyes meet his...

 her darling handsome husband...
who has the same face as the Prince
in her dream so many years ago.

She knew instantly the first time she
saw him... he was the one!

What a sweet life they had together.
Story by Edie Marie

Marie's exquisite Nutcracker Theater Doll
is incredible! Photos do not do it justice.
The fabric is a beautiful red embossed velvet.
So soft and lovely.

The theater within turns and is lite by a
crystal chandelier.  The figures in the theater
are porcelain with fine detailing.

This doll will also be on display at
the Picayune Train Depot for
"Christmas on the Rails".

This is the most gorgeous doll I've
ever seen Marie make. They're all so
fabulous... how does she make each one
better?? Somehow she does! She's my
amazing blog partner and dear friend Marie!!

CHRISTMAS ON GOLDEN POND

Now lets have some fun in the studio!

I saw this idea on Pinterest (of course)
and wanted to give it a try.

 Pinterest Inspiration

Christmas Project no1
On a difficulty scale of 1-10, I give
this project a 3. This was a fun and fairly
simple project for one person to tackle. I
would make another one of these, maybe
even two!

I had a
nice shaped bottle my dear friend Kitty
had given me. She hated to put it in
her re-cycling bin because it was too cool.
I found some old bottle brush trees at our
local antique mall and had plenty of ribbon
scraps and glitter to do the job!

Well, it does!

So here's my list of supplies:

Bottle, stopper, bottle brush tree, glitter,
adhesive (I used spray adhesive), ribbons,
do-dads.

1. I sprayed the tree with spray adhesive.

2. Sprinkle tree generously with glitter.
Then sprinkle it some more!

3. Tap, tap, tap off excess glitter.

4. I added some loose beads to my jar
then decided a small scrap of beaded
trim would coordinate for some
neck decoration. I glued & pinned
mine with a tiny straight pin.

5. Fabulous! Now glue your glittered tree
to the bottle stopper. My fav glue for such
applications is E6000. Very dependable.

6. I found a # plate "25" in my do-dads and
attached with some thin ribbon. Then
added a sheer black ribbon around the
bottle stopper/tree trunk to compliment
the black on the # plate.

7. Display and enjoy!

I had a lot of fun making
the bottle project.
