CREATIONS BY MARIE ANTOINETTE & EDIE MARIE

Welcome to our Team Blog! Marie Antoinette & Edie Marie have joined together to create a fun place to share our ideas and lives with all of you. We know that our teaming up has been confusing for some of you and we apologize. We will refer to ourselves as Marie Antoinette (the Doll Creator & maker of fabulous items) who lives in Peacock Paradise and Edie Marie (the creator of the posts and story telling on this blog & amateur crafter of many things in my "attic") who lives on Golden Pond. What great fun we have combining our forces!!

Thank you for stopping by to see what's happening in our studios in Peacock Paradise and on Golden Pond!

A FAN SWAP

Four of us ladies decided to have our
own little fan swap.
Our participants were:
Wanda Buxton of Roses In Winter Part II
Kelly Deal of Dreaming of Vintage
Marie Antionette
and Sherry

We asked each other for input as to
what our favorite themes were and
then got creative!

Marie's fan creation for Kelly Deal -
Marie's theme was "Halloween" for
Kelly's fan at Kelly's request. It's
elegant yet spooky... watch out for
those creepy spiders Kelly!

*******
Kelly's fan creation for Marie -
Kelly went with a Marie Antoinette
theme for Marie's fan. Her design
made it an expanding fan as you
can see in the photos.

*******

Sherry's fan creation for Wanda was
Marie Antoinette. Sherry used a mixed
media approach, paper, lace, vintage buttons,
ribbon roses, dimensional stickers and sparkles.

*******

Wanda's fan creation for Sherry was
Marie Antoinette also. Wanda used
a Journaling approach with lovely
tags peeking out of pockets.

*******
We all loved the fan that was
created for us! Thanks for a
great swap gals!

My Theater Dolls in The Knights of Columbus Art Show

Recently my Theater Dolls had the
honor of being in a local art show.
It was an exciting event for me to
be a part of!
I was entered into the 3D category and
The experience was a fun one.

I had 3 dolls entered

My Ballet Doll

The Baroque Doll

 and Madelyn the Christmas Doll.

It was fascinating seeing all the different
types of art in the show.

I took some quick snapshots of
the show.

This is the prize winner in the
3d catagory that I was a part of.
These were handmade vintage
Christening Gowns. Very beautiful.

The all around prize winner of the show
was for the painting you see of the Jazz
Musician.

There were lots of interesting entries.

Many different styles of art.

A really exciting thing happened
at the show.
 A lady walked up to
me and said "Well looks like you've
taken the prize of "the most sold" today".
I said "What do you mean?"
She said "You sold all three of your
dolls... to the same buyer
I was in total shock, I didn't have a clue.
She said "AND she's a doll collector and
has over 3000 dolls. Once she likes your
dolls she becomes a repeat buyer."
Once again in total shock.
I was introduced to the buyer
and she wanted to come home with me
 and see my other dolls.
(Thank God I keep the house tidy!)

So she came and browsed through my
studio and spotted some things for
future purchases.
I looked at her hubby at one point and
said quietly "I'm sorry", in a kidding way.
He replied "That's okay, I'll just build
around them!" What a sweet thing to say
It was lots of fun being a part of a
art show and meeting new people.

****************

I've also had a recent sale of one of my
paper peacocks...

to a gal that wanted to transform it
into a mask.

She sent me some photos of what she created.

 Amazing isn't it?

 What a creative artsy costume!

     They make a lovely couple!
Hope she won a prize for BEST MASK
EVER!!

Well that's all from my little studio
for now.

Remember the HOLIDAYS are FAST
approaching and we have some
fine Etsy Shops on our sidebar for
you to click on and browse.
You might find that perfect gift that
everyone will "Oooo and Aaaah" over!

Hope you're having a wonderful Fall.

Love you all!
Marie xoxo
