CREATIONS BY MARIE ANTOINETTE & EDIE MARIE

Welcome to our Team Blog! Marie Antoinette & Edie Marie have joined together to create a fun place to share our ideas and lives with all of you. We know that our teaming up has been confusing for some of you and we apologize. We will refer to ourselves as Marie Antoinette (the Doll Creator & maker of fabulous items) who lives in Peacock Paradise and Edie Marie (the creator of the posts and story telling on this blog & amateur crafter of many things in my "attic") who lives on Golden Pond. What great fun we have combining our forces!!

Thank you for stopping by to see what's happening in our studios in Peacock Paradise and on Golden Pond!

Merry Christmas to All & May your season be Bright!

From my home to yours, Merry Christmas!!! May your holidays be safe not only for the season, but thoughout the year. I have been blessed since I've been blogging with you dear friends. I hope to make many more.

I hope you enjoy my Christmas surprise: My Christmas Village! Be sure and stick around for my personal holiday greeting at the end of all the village film. Roll it ............

I put up this village every year, and it is also added to every year with more buildings, features, people, etc. It takes a few days to assemble and sits on several tables. (You can imagine the maze of wires underneath, but even so it's very steamlined, where I can flip a switch that controls most of it.) When completed, it takes up most of our 8 x 40 glass porch. I don't stick to one particular name brand of buildings, I have all sorts of manufacturers represented here- it makes for much more creative freedom... and Some of the features are miniatures I tweaked to have a holiday spin.

What makes it even more fun is that there are a few elements in my village that are not usually found in a traditional Christmas village; such as a graveyard, a harbor, a haunted area, and even a "wrong side of the tracks".

This video was filmed, edited, and uploaded by my son-in-law- Thank you, Chris for taking the time to do this for me!

Thats all folks,I will see you in the New Year. Merry Christmas, Love you, Marie Antionette

  1. Oh, Marie!!! I cannot get over how wonderful and beautiful your Christmas village is! Look at all that detail. I love how the little houses had big windows with little scenes in them. You put so much work into that and I am sure it is just a JOY to behold! I'll bet it is even better in person! Thanks so much for sharing that with me! :)

  2. Hi Marie, Your village is incredible, just incredible. I had such a great time viewing your town, that I had to see it twice and my hubby viewed with me in amazement. I think it should be called Antoinette City or Town or something. I also loved seeing beautiful you and your sweet message. You are so pretty and looked so cute in your Santa hat. Your words are special and reflect how all of us feel I think.

It has been such a delight to meet you this year and I so enjoy my visits to your blog and seeing your many talents. And now, your village.
I have one that occupies a curio cabinet, but is nothing like this. I can't get over it. Just spectacular!!
Thank you for sharing this video. Your son in law did a fantastic job.

Best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year.
    hugs,

  6. Greetings sweet friend! Yes, your comments are coming through just fine. Sometimes the blogger has a mind of it's own, I agree. I have had issue's with different things throughout the year and most frequently with the new change on the comments format. I got your other one the a couple of days ago too. Did you get the Elf movie yet? It's so funny! I'm not a fan of Will Farrell but I enjoy this movie a lot.

Your village pieces are very unique. Like the others commented, I too enjoy how the houses have things inside of them! Eye candy!

Tomorrow we are off to visit relatives, so begins a busy week! Have a great day tomorrow!

  7. Wow.... what a lot of work it must be setting it all up and I can only imagine that maze of wiring to get all the little lights set up... love the street lamps...
The area it covers is huge!
You sound just like I imagined you would.... it comes through even in your writing....

Have a great Christmas and I hope you will have a great 2009
    ....
    big hugs...your blog buddy V.

  8. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones too Toni! You and your son in law did a swell job! What an effort to put your Christmas town (this is not a village anymore ;-) up, but this is so rewarding in the end. That's lesson number one, number two is that houses, people, trees and whatsoever from different manufacturers work great! Only as they are assembled with love and that is what you did! Thanks for leaving us such a fine message and such a beautiful Christmas town as a treat. Have a merry Christmas and a good, happy and healthy 2009! Hugs LiLi

  9. Hi Sweet Marie!
I felt like I was a little girl again looking into the old department store windows in amazement at the scenes put up at Christmas time!!
EVERYTHING is a sight to behold! Wes & I watched it and kept oooing and ahhhing at one thing after another! Wes wants to know if it has it's own zip code?? LOL My DIL Chris has a village and will be looking at yours (she likes your blog too) and will be blown away with yours. I bet the Smithsonian would be interested in it!! I'm just in amazement Marie. You can tell you put so much love (along with work and sweat) into this incredible creation. It's a true work of art Marie!
Your son-in-law Chris did such a fabulous job on filming this Marie. He must love you very much! And your sweet daughter Alexa is so wonderful to help you get your blog going again. What would we do without our computer savvy kids to help us??
I'll be calling you to chat and wish you a Merry Christmas sweetie! We LOVED your message at the end and you looked as cool as a cucumber! You looked so spiffy in your hat! (Wes has a jokers hat that would look great with it!) He could be your elf!! LOL
Love & big hugs, Sherry & Wes
