CREATIONS BY MARIE ANTOINETTE & EDIE MARIE

Welcome to our Team Blog! Marie Antoinette & Edie Marie have joined together to create a fun place to share our ideas and lives with all of you. We know that our teaming up has been confusing for some of you and we apologize. We will refer to ourselves as Marie Antoinette (the Doll Creator & maker of fabulous items) who lives in Peacock Paradise and Edie Marie (the creator of the posts and story telling on this blog & amateur crafter of many things in my "attic") who lives on Golden Pond. What great fun we have combining our forces!!

Thank you for stopping by to see what's happening in our studios in Peacock Paradise and on Golden Pond!

WE'RE BACK!

It's been a busy few months for
Marie in Peacock Paradise and
for myself on Golden Pond!

A wonderful thing happened
this December... I had the blessing
of taking a trip to see darling Marie
in Picayune, Mississippi
and the chance to experience her
Whitmanville Christmas Village.
It was amazing!
(We know Christmas is past but wanted
to share Marie's fabulous village with you.)

Marie's opening night was a great success.
More than 500 people & children came
out to see her incredible village!

It's been a while since we've seen each
other in person so you can imagine
what fun we had.

The entry of Whitmanville was a treat
to behold. Marie created scenes that
set the stage for a peek back into
the Edwardian era, the era of her village.
This was a vintage wedding gown
decorated in glass cameo ornaments
and topped with a golden crown.

Marie and I brought this beautiful
chair from her home along
with the darling beaded lamp
and some of her favorite
collectible dolls. It turned out
incredible.

Look at Patty Play Pal with
her crown on that I made for
Marie one Christmas!

The other corner of the entry was
adorned with another vintage wedding
gown decorated in gold. So lovely!

It was a vision of beauty!

Next to it was one of Marie's
Theater Angels.
This one was created for the
Ladie's Christmas Luncheon at
Marie's church and shows the
nativity scene in front of the
Bible.

There were Christmas themed Theater Dolls
on Marie's guest book table. They were
the perfect touch in the entry area.

Now for the main event...

Whitmanville is 124' of Christmas magic!

It takes 2 weeks of lots of hours and the
help of Marie's daughter, Alexia, and a
dear friend of Marie's to set up the village.

Here's just a few of my favorite close-ups.

~The Harbor~

~The 3 Scene Nutcracker Ballet~
(the curtain closes 3 times to reveal
a different scene from the Nutcracker)

 ~Santa Claus and His Reindeer~

~The French Bakery/Cafe/Hotel~

~The Victorian Christmas Scene~

~The Other Theater in Town~

~The Ice Castle~

~The Circus is in Town~

~The City Zoo~

~My Favorite - The Elephants~

~The Dutch Windmill~

~Pet Portraits with Santa~

~The Rodeo - Yee Haw!~

~The Race Track~
Ladies & Gentlemen Place Your Bets!

~Mangrove Conservatory~

~Whitmanville Airport~

~The Christmas Train~

The sun has set and it's "show time"!

Every age came to see the village from
wee ones to the elderly.
All was thoroughly entertained!

The looks on the children's faces
were that of pure wonder as they
inspected all the details of
this tiny town!

It was wonderful meeting Marie's good
friends, Bessie, Dr Tim and Ricky.
Ricky & Dr Tim own the
Teddy Bear House in Picayune.
What a great place that is!

The night was an incredible success!

A special thank you to Mr Larry of
Larry's Dry Cleaners in Picayune
for giving Marie the perfect venue
to display Whitmanville for all of
the people of Picayune to come visit
it for free!
(Don't you just love his vintage sign?)

Thank you for the most amazing week
my sweet friends!!

Hope you enjoyed a peek into
the world of Whitmanville!

Blessings & love,
Marie Antoinette & Edie Marie
XOXO

  6. Oh, my, my, my! I am simply overwhelmed. What a magnificent Christmas paradise! Thank you for the photo and travelogue tour - it was such a delight to see the splendor that you've created. Of course, I've always been a HUGE fan of Marie's luxe theatre lamp/sculpture/dioramas. But the two shown here are superlative in every way. I was also excited to see your Nutcracker theatres. (A particular favorite of mine, maybe you'd like to see the mini-Nutcracker theatre/diorama I created this year: http://tristanrobin.blogspot.com/2015/12/the-nutcracker-mini-theatre.html)
My best wishes for you both to have peaceful, productive, creative and joyous 2016!

  17. Hello ladies,
The Patty Play Pal is so darling. She has such a sweet face, and I love the crown that was made for her. And the ice castle looks like a winter wonderland. So many splendid things to look at for the kids....and the adults hehehe. The Christmas train is magical. I have a thing for trains, and Jess' fiancé made a lovely train model with people and animals surrounding it all.

I hope the new year is being kind to you both.

    love, ~Sheri
