CREATIONS BY MARIE ANTOINETTE & EDIE MARIE

Welcome to our Team Blog! Marie Antoinette & Edie Marie have joined together to create a fun place to share our ideas and lives with all of you. We know that our teaming up has been confusing for some of you and we apologize. We will refer to ourselves as Marie Antoinette (the Doll Creator & maker of fabulous items) who lives in Peacock Paradise and Edie Marie (the creator of the posts and story telling on this blog & amateur crafter of many things in my "attic") who lives on Golden Pond. What great fun we have combining our forces!!

Thank you for stopping by to see what's happening in our studios in Peacock Paradise and on Golden Pond!

My Peacocks!

Hello Everyone!
Allow me to show you some of my beautiful boys. Their names are Blueboy, and Christmas Snow . The above picture is Blue boy, or was. Katrina got him. He was 16yrs old. I have a better picture of him, but since we got this new Vista I can't scan them in. He was the sire for most of my peacocks. Which, by the way, you don't chase after them and pull their feathers out. They molt them out once a year. It takes 7 months for their feathers to grow back, at a rate of 1/2 foot per yr. They do this for breeding time in the spring. If you would like to see a doll that I made with his feathers, you may view it on my Flickr- Here's the front: http://www.flickr.com/photos/26629199@N02/2645144007/

Here is the back

I sold it awhile back.
Now the next picture, is Christmas Snow.He is only 6 yrs old.
He looks like a lace fan. They are beautiful to look at , BUT!!! They do their business everywhere, including on my porch, top of the greenhouse, and car. Well ...LOL...you have to take the bad with the good. Hugs Marie Antionette

  2. Hi Marie,
    The peacocks are beautiful.

I'm sorry to hear about Blue Boy. Christmas Snow is very beautiful. I love the sounds that peacocks make, it's very pretty but also a little haunting sounding at the same time. Brings back great memories of spending time with my grandparents. Thanks for sharing.

Love the music - especially Lulu!

  4. Hello Miss Antoinette,

I love your SOLD Santa. He is wonderful!! What beautiful peacocks. Christmas Snow is AMAZING!! You should create a snow fairy and use the white peacock feathers that he molts. What lovely pets to keep (even though they do their business everywhere). ;~)

  13. Your boys are just gorgeous! I love peacocks, although I know they can be pretty territorial! In an old neighborhood near Los Angeles they roam the streets, they make good "watch dogs"!

  17. I'm in awe of the peacocks, Marie Antoinette, and in my opinion, New Orleans is as close to France as we get in the USA. I'm adding your blog to "The Reasons The Paint Dries On My Brushes" so I can find my way back - often!

  22. Oh your peacocks are fantastic, especially Christmas snow. I love peacocks, they remind me of my time in Africa where I was surrounded with them. I especially like the sound that they make. Thanks for reminding me of such a great joy they give.
