Wanna Laugh ???

Do I have a funny story for you...

I did something really stupid, so of course I had to tell sherry of http://ediemariesattic.blogspot.com/ And of course she said I should post it,so here it is.

The first thing I always do in the morning is put lotion on my hands and face. I did not sleep well,so I did not realize what I was doing. I proceeded to rub the lotion all over my face and arms, when I smelled something not quite right .Hmmmmmmmmm. What in the world (not exactly what I said). I looked at the tube, lo and behold ...instead of rubbing Avons Honey Lemon body balm...LOL...I was rubbing BOUDREAUX'S Butt Paste on myself...LOL. I don't know how many of you know what butt paste is, but down here, its a cream that you rub, where else, on your BUTT. Its for rashes and such as that. Most convalesent homes use it on their patients. Anyway I've been using it on my little dog Hobie. You see she has bad skin allergies. It kind of numbs the areas you put it on, LIKE IT DID MY FACE !!! I thought Sherry would never stop laughing. Anyway that is my tail, I mean tale of woe. It took me forever to wash that crap, dog gone it, I mean that paste off me.

I want to post a few dolls that I made a few yrs ago. I always wanted to make Asian dolls but never could find the porcelain heads to make them. So what I did was alter some of the faces of porcelain head I already had. I kind of sanded thier faces off and redid them as best I can. I'm not an artist, don't claim to be. Anywho... The first picture shown is not supose to be Asian , but more of the islands I guess. Any of you who have ever been to Bay St Louis on the coast might remember this. For its not their anymore. There were a couple of well known places on the Bay that got washed away during Katrina. I know all of you heard of the bridge that was completely gone. Well this is the spot I'm talking about. There was a bar called the Firedog Saloon ,a famous restarunt called Tripanies, great shops. In one of these cafes was a murial on one whole wall. The picture was of this doll you see here. I'm glad that I made this doll, because most records of it is forever gone. The elderly lady who painted this murial has passed also. She painted this when she was a much younger woman. She also use to teach belly dancing and was quite famous around our area. She taught my daughter belly dancing.

About the doll...I made everything except the head and limbs.I did sculp the blue parot. Not the smaller ones. In fact thats what this scene is called The Blue Parot. The vignette I crated believe it or not is almost identical to the huge murial.

The other dolls I just made because I get on these kicks, where I like to make certain things for awhile. Do ya'll do that too?

I made the water and sculped the gold fish in the little pond.I used aittle tub and put the goldfish and whatever else in, then I poured some kind of hardening agent, can't remember the name, anyway it gets hard as glass.
I want to thank Nora Johnson of http://nora-johnson.blogspot.com/for honoring me with this award. I really do love her blog, its very interesting and very intertaining also. Please pay her a visit.Thank you Nora I do love getting awards.
I would love to pass this award to all my friends that I've been blogging with. You all deserve it.
As always I wish all of you a wonderful summer, try to stay cool and please be safe.God love you and bless you, XXOO Marie Antionette

  3. OMGosh! You are so funny! I had a friend thought she was putting in no rinse conditioner in her hair after a shower once and it was really lotion! She had to get back in and try to wash it out and it still looked greasy for a while, LOL! Oh, and YES it really was a friend, not just me saying it was "a friend", LOL!

    Your dolls are beautiful!

Thank you for entering my giveaway! Good luck to you!

If your daughter does help you put the button on the sidebar be sure and come back and do a second comment for the second chance! I was looking for her blog title on your sidebar and I couldn't remember the name!!! Please make sure Alexia is invited! :)

  4. One should NEVER blog with liquad in their mouths. EVER... that is so funny and right up my alley of "what tammy did today". I have a knack for doing such things. I also twist words around a lot.

Your dolls are exquisite!! Truly beautiful.

  5. No "butts" about it, you are too funny!!! Just had to "butt" in and say that, LOL...but Toni let us know if you think the butt cream is good for the face after all...

What gorgeous dolls! It's wonderful that you made that vignette of the Blue Parrot before the original mural was lost to the world.

All of the dolls are gorgeous. I love how the lady is carrying that lantern and leading the horse in the last one!

  7. It has been a while since I have visited. Oh honey, I hope you are feeling much better. That numbness doesn't sound good.

I love the pictures of you and Sherry. It is so wonderful that you were able to spend the time together. Yay!

Your story is too funny. You need to steer yourself clear of the butt cream. Does it work for your dog?

Your dolls are treasures. You have been blessed by God with a true and rare talent.

    Have a good weekend.

    hugs,
    Barb

  13. Marie!!! How wonderful to see your comment! Thank you so much for asking about my thesis...I am moving along quite well. It is comprised of three chapters (long and full of citations) and I have finished chapters 2 and 3. I now have to tackle chapter 1 and if I am wise, I will finish before the summer ends. Your story is hilarious! This has happened to me before, but not to this extent! I have used hand lotion instead of soap to wash my hands but in your case, that is very unique!!!! Your dolls are exquisite Marie! You are so gifted and I know the joy of working with dolls. My mom was so great at it. Have a marvelous summer; we are having a cool one. Yesterday it was about 59 degrees and windy! Take care and I will be blogging again soon. Kind regards, Anita

    Pretty dolls.

  15. Hahaha, this is funny! My mistake was taking my daughters medical lotion instead of my contact lens liquid...this was an expensive mistake! The alcohol in that lotion damaged my lenses, so I had to buy new ones :-( I was happy that I didn't use it for my eyes though! Luckily budd ream doesn't exist here! Have a great weekend without any 'mistakes', though we like to hear those stories!

Yes those dolls are old, the frozen charlotte is a little older than the little bisquit lady and the bath they are in together is new.

  50. Hi Marie,
I'm so glad you came to visit me this weekend. Your blog is lovely and you are one hugely talented lady!

Ah, Boudreaux's Butt Paste! The best in the world. When my son was born 18 years ago, we had a pharmacist friend who still lived in LA. He sent us a "custom made" tub of that wonderful stuff. I think maybe it used to be just a pharmacist's secret and you couldn't buy it over the counter then? Now it's famous!

  54. Oh Dear that is soooo funny - Hey I wonder if that would work on painful spots on the body!! other than the butt?
Along those lines - many many years ago while staying at a friends after a party - I woke up early in the am and HAD to brush my teeth - did have my toothbrush with me - so went in this guys bathroom and picked up a tube put the gel on my brush, stuck it in my mouth and started brushing - and then just about gagged -
looked down at the tube it was
    Brylcream!!!! aaagghhhhhhh!! lololo

Toni - those dolls and vignettes are just stunning - but that doesn't surprise me - you do such beautiful dolls!
Hope you are doing pretty good sweetness!
    Take care of yourself!
    love ya Toni,
