People have asked us what our favorite
thing in Paris was.
(Besides the Eiffel Tower)
Our answer is always the little
place we had breakfast every morning,
Cafe le St Lazare!
Our Barista was Pierre, pronounced Perry
with the emphasis on the "ry".
He was so handsome and endearing.

Pierre did not speak English but always
seemed to know exactly what we wanted.
We fell in love with him and his young
female assistant, Odelle, pronounced O-deal.
She spoke pretty good English
and was sweet, kind and adorable.
The last morning we saw her she hugged
and kissed us goodbye.
(Of course I cried)
Our usual - cafe (coffee) and croissants.
There's nothing like the French croissant!
Crispy and flaky on the outside
and the inside melts in your mouth.

We couldn't miss going to the Palace to
see where Marie Antoinette lived!

Ooooo, this café sounds delightful And that chocolate croissant, Yummy! I actually just had a chocolate croissant the other day. :) What a cute picture of you, Edie Marie. How interesting that Pierre is pronounced like that, I didn't realize. Marie, thank you for stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment. It looks like you had a wonderful time. When I lived in Columbus OH I used to patronize a lovely bakery called La Chatelaine. It was owned by a French family who made all their pastries and breads on the premises. I agree the French croissants are the best. What you described is exactly what I used to eat at La Chatelaine. And the chocolate croissants were my favorite. They also served light lunch and supper, and made a fresh tomato basil soup that was to die for. You've brought back a dear memory. Thank you. ~ Nancy
